Stu Tones loves throwing great parties and playing quality dance music. Stu started clubbing in London at the end of the 90s where he found a great passion for all sorts of electronic music and has been DJing house, electro, techno and trance since the early noughties. Stu, like many, lost touch with the clubbing scene to focus on work and family for a number of years but lockdown parties reignited his love for DJing and hosting events. Realising he is not alone in this renaissance was a driving force in creating House of the South to share and bring people back to a scene that was so formative in our lives.

House of the South resident DJ, AL-X-D loves to entertain us with his dedication and loyalty to all things banging beats! Pumping out Tech House and cheekily squeezing in a mainstage techno track or 2, AL-X-D strives to keep the sound truly ‘underground’.
As a teenager in the 90’s, Alex surrounded himself in the rave scene sound, endless collecting CD’s and vinyl which all had that undertone of a ‘banging beat’ with genres spanning from trance to techno to hard house and all sub genres in between!

Kris started DJing as a teen in the late 90s inspired by the legendary trance DJs of the time and the birth of the Euphoric trance album releases. His passion has always been for the energetic side of dance music, but having later taken residency at a cocktail bar in Ashley Cross, he found success and a love for mixing a variety of deep, tech and funky house tracks.
Proud to be representing the House of the South, you'll be seeing him mix a variety of genres, early or late, and will be sure to get the crowd moving.

A love of music from jazz to rock to house influences the music that reaches Andy’s setlists. Depending on the time of night (or day) Andy plays a blend of melodic and progressive house, taking listeners on smooth rollercoaster journeys that drift and uplift.
After failing to learn guitar Andy got into DJing during lockdown when he realised we’d need to party once out, pulling off a now legendary house party that was heard through half of Southbourne. It was at this point he realised he had a desire to to share music and play tunes to make people move.
Musically he’s influenced by the likes of Cristoph, Franky Wah, Claptone, Sultan + Shepard, Lane 8, Tinlicker, Kamilo Sanclemente, Marsh, Julian Nates & Simon Doty. Expect new releases, some recent classics and occasional reworks of old school classics.

My cousin got me in to DJing who would go out raving to many events and I'd listen to his tape packs and said I want to do this after watching videos of events like Fantazia, Obsession and fusion back in the begin 89-90 era. I was only 10 when I first put vinyl to deck. Favourite genres is a tough one as I like so many and range in different tempo/speed. I love all things 90s and vinyl as that's where it all began for me playing vinyl, (Hardcore, trance, house) but obviously we have to move on with the times so my favourite styles to mix currently are Hard Dance, Techno and Tech House.
I like to try and incorporate many genres into one set as there’s so much good music out there and I like to be versatile...... Biggest influences for me, definitely Carl Cox hands down. And if there was anyone in the world I'd love to do a b2b with it would be him 1000% . Other influences include BK, Rob Tissera after doing the Lisa lashes school of music with them as mentors. Amazing experience and learnt so much more from them.
Memorable DJ story, I think the whole 32 year journey has been and is still memorable to me and I still pinch myself sometimes at what I've achieved over the years both here in the UK and other countries. Memorable gigs include main stage opera house, playing Ministry of Sound in 2018, playing out in Australia in 2012 for Kontiki yacht party's on the WhitSundays at Daydream Island and then playing at the full moon party in Thailand's Ko Pha Ngan in 2012. So many great memories made and plenty more to come hopefully these next coming years.

Radio1's Essential Mix kick-started Pedro's addiction to multi genre underground Dance Music in the mid nineties. After moving to Southampton in '96 he found himself making a natural progression into Djing, carefully crafting mixes for home listening and getting people dancing in the Student PubClub, hometown venues and south west Forest & London Warehouse Parties at every opportunity over the following 10 years.
Fast forward to the 2020's and spare time during Covid, the buzz was reborn, with a jump into the digital music world, the need to share amazing musical finds led him to seek out a professional outfit to perform with; the exciting House of the South team. With his appearances you may hear anything from a thoughtful Deep House set, unashamedly butt-wiggling Funkiness, euphoric Trance to a pounding Techno journey and fusions of all kinds of genres in-between.
If you like the underground sound, Pedro will entertain you.

Growing up, Dori Mack loved music and dance and as a child, joined a choir and attended dance school with dreams of being a Butlins redcoat. Sadly illness put a stop to her dreams taking her on a path of poor life choices and away from her love of music. Thankfully, Dori Mack managed to turn her life around and rediscovered her passion for music, immersing herself once more going to live gigs, discos and festivals and realised this is the world where she belonged. Dori Mack decided it was time to pick up her dreams again and started up her own entertainment business, Psyche Entertainment. This gave her confidence to get out in the world, be more social and attend raves. Then one day in April 2023, she walked into a DJ shop and didn’t look back – DJ Dori Mack was born.
Her favourite genres to DJ are House, Hard House, Techno and Trance and names House of the South DJs Kaylene Sc@r, Darren Squires, Brian Holt and Wayne Chant among her biggest inspirations.

Matt has been passionate about electronic dance music since he was 13 years-old. His sound has evolved over the years and from the moment he got his first set of Numark belt drive decks when he was 17, he has never looked back.
He has DJ'd at numerous events and clubs in both Asia and the UK where he has perfected the art of building the perfect atmosphere for any venue. He produces a lot of his own mash-ups which you'll often hear in his sets. Matt will be welcoming us all to the Nexus dancefloor on Friday, 4 October with a Soulful House set.

Getting influences from Judge Jules and Pete Tong, Ryan started clubbing in the late 90's at Slinky and then moving on to Cheeky Little Monkey. This is where Ryan started mixing.
Loving all genres of house and trance and now finally back in clubs mixing the music he loves.

Islez fell in love with House and Trance music as a teenager but being partially deaf, never imagined DJing was an opportunity open to him. He started DJing in 2020 when we were in lock down when his mate, Rob, introduced him to waveforms on his mixer which changed his life. Fast track to now and here he is DJing for House of the South as well as private parties and venues like the Highcliff Sailing Club. He has always been musical playing piano and guitar, and spent a lot of years making tacks on cue base from his teens. His favourite genres are melodic and progressive house/techno, Afro house Amapiano, Trance uplifting. I would love to go b2b with Chicane, Marsh, Simon Doty or Franky Wah.
Inspired by the sense of community experienced at early raves, his sole aim is to use the love of music to bring people together.

Notushabi started DJing in '97 while studying music in Durban, South Africa. Moved to London in '99 and DJ'd at some of the biggest clubs (Ministry of Sound, Pacha, The Egg) before taking a long break to raise a family).
Moved to Bournemouth in 2015 and Notushabi has met some wonderful people here who love the same music he does. Musically been interested in and played mostly Disco, Deep House and Tech House.

I started DJing i would say mid 90s, originally funnily enough, because we all were into the hardcore scene around Southampton. There were multiple tape packs of every night ever around, all sadly wrecked by overly eager mc’s which, while were great on the night, playback on tape wasn’t so great so I started
DJing to create some mixtapes with no mc input! Some of the earlier mixes were actually atrocious but hey, gotta start somewhere right? There is some evidence of this on my Mixcloud account, see vinyl vault mixes on there… nostalgia n all that…
A mate of mine had an old set of belt driven record decks and a Made2fade mixer and I got started there. Wasn’t long before I took a loan out to get my own set and off we went! Spending every single penny I had buying records from Stu J and Jon Doe at Movement Records down behind the Odeon Cinema in Southampton. I have remained friends with those 2 reprobates ever since!
I DJ most genres these days but I guess my favourite currently sits somewhere on the techno spectrum, ranging from euphoric trance and psytrance right up to beating acid techno and hard trance. Although I still love other styles, happy hardcore, hard techno, house, hard house, drum n bass and so on. Not unusual for me to drop something different into a mix sometimes that no one expects to generate some nostalgia or spark some interest and stand out from the crowd…. Works for me (most times!)
Musical influences … pffff where to start?? Ok umm I guess my earliest influences were on the 90s hardcore scene, we regularly attended the Adrenalin events with DJ’s / producers such as Ramos supreme and sunset regime, mc Marley and Stu J, Druid, Vinylgroover the list goes on…all playing the early happy hardcore breakbeaty stuff. But the biggest influence for me had to be DJ Sy the scratchmaster, as both DJ and producer his sets were amazing. Going forward my love of techno and trance type genres came from Stu J’s techno nights (Electric Kingdom) at Madisons in Bournemouth listening to Stu, Jon Doe, The Xmen,
Carl Cox, Westbam etc, and far too many Saturday nights after falling out of Madisons at 2am heading down to club uk in Wandsworth… the infamous “chewits room” which was techno and hard trance as a rule. I guess that's where that side of things took off.

I started djing when I was 18, 32 years ago. Just so I could do some tapes for me and my mates to listen to with all our favourite tunes on. I love mixing all types of dance music genres. I've played DnB, rave breaks, hardcore, garage, hard house, house, hard trance, and trance at various clubs up and down the south coast, but my favourite genres to play are hard house, hard trance and trance.
My favourite DJ until recently had been DJ Sy. I would have loved going b2b with him back in the day. I played just before Sy for Rampant at Bliss Southampton for a packed out club. That was an amazing night! I'm really excited to be playing at House of Trance! The atmosphere is simply electric with the most friendly and up for it crowd, playing my favourite music!
